Sculptra Aftercare
To ensure your Sculptra investment develops into a smooth, natural-looking foundation, the days following your treatment are the most critical. Unlike traditional fillers, Sculptra requires a small amount of "homework" to activate the collagen-building process correctly.

POST-TREATMENT CARE
Nurturing Your Collagen Investment
The success of a biostimulator treatment relies on post-care consistency. Please follow these expert steps to ensure a flawless, long-term result.

1. The Golden Rule: The "5-5-5" Massage
This is the most important step in your Sculptra journey. To ensure the Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA) particles are distributed evenly and to prevent the formation of small bumps (nodules), you must massage the treated areas:
-
5 Minutes at a time.
-
5 Times a day.
-
For 5 Days following your treatment.
-
Expert Tip: Use a gentle moisturiser or facial oil to help your fingers glide over the skin without tugging.
2. Manage Swelling and Bruising
It is normal to experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising for 2–7 days.
-
Cold Compress: Apply a clean, cloth-wrapped cold pack to the treated area for 10 minutes every hour on the first day to reduce swelling.
-
Arnica: Continue taking Arnica tablets or apply Arnica gel topically to help bruises fade faster.
-
Elevate: Sleep with your head slightly elevated on an extra pillow for the first 2 nights.

3. Activities to Avoid
To protect the injection sites and prevent increased inflammation:
-
24 Hours: Avoid wearing heavy makeup or applying harsh skincare products.
-
48 Hours: Refrain from strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs.
-
7 Days: Avoid direct, intense sun exposure or sunbeds until initial swelling and redness have subsided. Always wear SPF 50.

4. The "Vanishing" Effect
Do not be alarmed if, after 3–5 days, it looks like nothing was done. The initial "fullness" you saw was simply the sterile water used to deliver the product. This water is absorbed by the body, and the real work—collagen synthesis—begins quietly beneath the skin over the next 4 to 12 weeks.

5. When to Contact Me
While rare, please contact Lou immediately if you experience:
-
Increasing pain or heat at the injection site.
-
Discolouration of the skin that looks mottled or pale.
-
A fever or persistent, worsening swelling after 72 hours.
