Sculptra Pre Treatment Advice
To ensure your Sculptra treatment provides the most seamless, high-end results, preparation is key. Following these professional guidelines will minimise downtime and ensure your skin is in the optimal state for its collagen-building journey.

PRE-TREATMENT ADVICE
To achieve the most flawless outcome and reduce the risk of bruising or swelling, please follow these recommendations:
1. The 7-Day Window: Blood Thinners
For one week prior to your appointment, avoid substances that can thin the blood. This significantly reduces the risk of bruising at the injection sites.
-
Avoid: Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), and Naproxen.
-
Supplements: Pause intake of Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, Garlic supplements, and high-dose Omega-3/Fish Oils.
-
Note: If you take prescription blood thinners, please consult your GP before making any changes.

2. The 48-Hour Rule: Alcohol & Hydration
-
Alcohol: Refrain from consuming alcohol for at least 48 hours before your treatment, as it dilates blood vessels and increases the likelihood of bruising.
-
Hydration: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session. Well-hydrated skin responds more predictably to biostimulator treatments.

3. Skin Health & Preparation
-
Inflammation: Ensure the treatment area is free from active acne, rashes, cold sores, or infections. If a flare-up occurs, please contact Lou to reschedule.
-
Dental Work: Avoid any major dental procedures (including deep cleans) 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after Sculptra to minimise the risk of bacterial spread.
-

4. Natural Support: Arnica
-
Many clients find that taking Arnica Montana tablets (available at most health stores) 2–3 days before treatment helps minimise post-injection bruising and swelling.

5. On the Day of Treatment
-
Clean Skin: Arrive with a "naked" face—free of makeup, heavy creams, or sunscreens.
-
Nutrition: Eat a light meal or snack before your appointment to ensure your blood sugar levels are stable.
